Due to significant flooding and impassable roads in our region from Tropical Storm Helene, the WNC Nature Center is temporarily CLOSED.

All of our animals are safe and accounted for, and there is minimal damage to the habitats. However, Swannanoa River Road and the main bridge to the Nature Center were washed away, and it will take time to reopen. We will undoubtedly need your support as we rebuild.

Wolf Howl for Kids!

See the WNC Nature Center like never before- at night!

Spend your evening learning about the Red and Gray Wolves of North America with your family!  This brand new program includes fun and educational crafts, games, and an opportunity to meet a live animal, followed by a trek to our wolf habitats located onsite at the Nature Center for a howling session. Discover the legends and lore of these top predators and find out the truth about wolves. This kid-friendly version of our Wolf Howl event is geared toward families. $15 for children, $20 for adults.  Please keep in mind that during the outdoor portion, we will be walking on rough terrain in dark conditions.
Pre-registration required.  Tickets will not be sold at the door.

Because this event is close to Halloween, you are encouraged to wear a family friendly costume!

Recommended for kids 12 and under
*This is an indoor event, masks are encouraged.
**Cancellation policy: Cancellations must be made 1 week prior to the event for a full refund.  If the event is cancelled due to weather or COVID related concerns, full refunds will be issued
