UPDATE:  As of July 1, 2020, until further notice, the WNC Nature Center remains temporarily closed to the public. The Nature Center is working closely with local officials to develop a plan to safely reopen. This will most likely take place during Phase 3 of North Carolina’s Stay Safe COVID-19 order. We anticipate opening during the month of September and will update the website and our social media platforms as soon as a date is confirmed.

You can purchase your membership at any time on our website or through our membership app.

Memberships may also be purchased in person at the Nature Center during operating hours or over the phone by calling (828)259-8092.

Yes! Present your membership receipt and entrance receipt at the Front Entrance ticket window before 4:30 pm on the day of your visit, and the admission price for anyone included on the new membership will be refunded.

Membership cards will be mailed within 10 business days. If you purchase in person, your receipt will serve as your pass until your permanent cards are received.

Absolutely! But keep in mind that your added benefits will expire at the same time as your current membership.

No, all membership purchases are final and cannot be refunded, partially refunded, or transferred.

Yes! Just show your photo ID at the Nature Center Front Entrance to have your membership verified. You will need your membership card to gain entry into reciprical centers.

Your membership begins on the date of purchase and expires 12 months from the date of purchase. When renewing early, 12 months will be added to your current expiration date.

You will receive a card for each named adult on the membership.

Don’t worry! Your membership will be extended for another 12 months.

A photo ID is required to ensure you are a member of the WNC Nature Center. This prevents misuse of memberships.

No, the named member must be present for guests to enter.

Under our family membership, up to four children in your household will receive free admission to the Nature Center when you enter. 

Yes, but they must present the membership card for the member child’s family.

A family membership covers up to four dependent household children only. 

Any adults named on the membership, as well as children included in a family membership, can take advantage of membership benefits!

Yes, the WNC Nature Center is a member of the Association of Zoos & Aquariums (AZA) and the Association of Science – Technology Centers (ASTC). Please contact the zoo, science center, or museum you are planning to visit for prices before you visit as their policies may change without notice.

While reciprocal partners will honor the named members and a certain number of dependent children, they are not required to honor the extra benefits of your WNC Nature Center membership.

Reciprocal partners do not share databases, so please remember to take your membership card and photo IDs.
