What to Expect

  • We are not taking reservations, and you do not need to pre-register to visit.
  • We are accepting both cash and credit card transactions. To minimize contact, we encourage you to buy your tickets online! Please bring exact change to use our vending machines, Penny Press (51 cents), and Chicken Feeder (25 cents).
  • The Nature Center Gift shop is located near the Front Entrance. The shop is open Thursday-Tuesday from 10:00 AM to 4:30 PM and is closed on Wednesday.
  • To reduce contact, maps will not be offered at the Front Entrance. There are several maps posted throughout the park, and you can also view the map below during your visit.

Safety Measures in Place

  • Protective panels have been installed where face-to-face interactions most frequently take place.
  • High touch surfaces will be cleaned frequently, and hand sanitizing stations will be available.
  • Restrooms will be open, with foot pedals to allow hands-free entry.
  • Due to limited space, there may be times when visitors are asked to wait outside the Nature Center Gift Shop until someone exits. We also offer a plushie vending machine in the barn or you can preorder an item at our Online Gift Shop or by phone to be ready for pick up before you visit. If you have a pick up order and the Gift Shop is full, you can check in with the Membership Office.
  • Hours have been reduced to allow for a deeper sanitizing of the park each day. The Nature Center will close at 4:30pm, with last entry at 3:30pm.

The health and safety of our guests, volunteers, staff, and animals is a priority. Thank you for your understanding and support! Please email admin@wildwnc.org with any questions prior to your visit
