Current Project: Permanent Native Pollinator Garden

As part of the next phase of the WNC Nature Center’s Gateway to the Southern Appalachians project, a permanent native pollinator garden is in the works. This new garden will feature Nature Play areas, a planted meadow, shaded coverings, an education kiosk – and butterflies, of course! – designed to engage guests of all ages in the wonders and beauty of our region.

You’re helping the The Nature Center connect people of all ages to the plants and animals of the Southern Appalachian Mountains. Be a part of something truly magical – and critical!

Membership

An annual membership with the Friends of the WNC Nature Center gives you exclusive benefits all year round, including free admission to the park for a year, free or discount admission to events and programs, and other special perks.

Gift Shop

The Gift Shop is open daily 10:00am to 4:30 pm.

Located at the Front Entrance, the Nature Center Gift Shop offers a variety of souvenirs, apparel, toys, plush animals, jewelry, and snacks.

Animal adoptions have helped provide major renovations to the Nature Center’s cougar, bobcat, and gray wolf habitats.

Corporate Friends

The WNC Nature Center is one of the premiere family-friendly attractions in the area. Open 361 days a year and offering a wide range of education, recreation, and conservation programming, the Nature Center is a great place to reach your target audience and the 180,000 people who come through our gates annually!

Depending on their level of support, Corporate Friends receive free passes to the Nature Center, tabling opportunities, discounts on employee memberships, event sponsorship promotion, and more!

The Friends of the WNC Nature Center (Tax ID: 23-7412910) has supported the Nature Center since 1974. This 501(c)(3) nonprofit raises funds through donations, memberships, events, and Gift Shop sales. The Friends also provide outreach education, volunteer coordination, and marketing. Your donation directly supports the Nature Center!
